first_imgThe beautiful Carrickfinn Beach.Leading travel website TripAdvisor have failed to select any Donegal beach in their list of the Top Ten beaches in Ireland.That has prompted some angry responses from Donegal residents both home and abroad who are dismayed at the fact that not ONE beach made it on to the list.We’re used to being overlooked in Donegal, and have been regularly dubbed ‘The Forgotten County’. But one thing we were always renowned for was having some of the most stunning beaches and scenery in the world.However, we now may need to re-evaluate that belief after leading travel giant TripAdvisor failed to select any Donegal beach in their list of the Top Ten in Ireland.One angry Donegal resident took to Facebook to express their surprise at Donegal’s omission from the list, “What an absolute joke of a selection from TripAdvisor, I’m sure there are plenty of other places in Ireland that are annoyed they didn’t make the list, but seriously how can we not get ONE beach on that list.Another posted under TripAdvisor’s post, “We have a number of the most beautiful beaches in the world here in Donegal, but we don’t make the Top Ten, did anyone even bother to visit Donegal?
