first_imgFledgling online lettings platform Accommodation.co.uk has revealed its first franchisees including one who turns out to be a former Purplebricks LPE.Joe Grundy is to be the agency’s representative in Stockport where the company has recently moved its headquarters.Until joining Accommodation.co.uk he had been a Purplebricks territory owner in Manchester for over three years.Grundy is the fifth franchisee to join the platform following similar announcement in Sheffield, Leeds, Lincoln and Canterbury.Founder Aaron Short (left) claims the company will be announcing three new franchisees every month from October onwards ‘due to huge demand’.Grundy has 12 years’ experience within the hybrid and high street lettings industry including stints at local agencies Maurice Kilbride and Sequence. He began his career working alongside his mother when he was a teenager.“I instantly loved the fast pace of lettings and thrived off of building relationships with landlords and managing their portfolios,” he has told a local business website..“A property will be typically let out every six to 12 months, so creating lasting connections with landlords is really important.“I decided to partner with Accommodation.co.uk because the company is revolutionising the renting experience, and has taken a business model that I’m familiar with and has made it even better.”Accommodation.co.uk soft-launched in May 2018 but then delayed its full launch after Short decided and its other directors to take a ‘hybrid’ approach via a franchising model. At the time it told The Negotiator it would be charging agents £995 to join and £100 a month thereafter.Joe Grundy maurice kilbride accommodation.co.uk Sequence September 5, 2019Nigel LewisWhat’s your opinion?
