The jump shows that the PR surrounding its new services has been effective. At the end of 16 April 2005, Oxfam Unwrapped was in 128th position in the Hitwise Community – Humanitarian category. One month later, by the week ending 14 May, it was in 32nd position, a remarkable jump of 96 places. Indeed, it did even better for a short time: the site peaked at number 23 in the Humanitarian sector on 12 May. Advertisement The site’s popularity has risen for two main reasons. First, it recently launched its spring/summer catalogue. Secondly, it has launched its wedding registry service, enabling couples to register a list of charitable gifts for their wedding guests on the Oxfam site.
