first_imgAfrica’s largest solar-plus-wind-plus-storage project proposed in Kenya FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享PV Tech:Japanese developer Eurus Energy and Australian-headquartered wind developer Windlab have signed a deal with Kenyan authorities to develop an 80MW solar-plus-wind-plus-storage facility in central Kenya. The Meru County Energy Park is being hailed as “Africa’s first large-scale hybrid wind, solar PV and battery project.”According to news reports in The Standard and ESI-Africa, the US$150 million plant will comprise 20 wind turbines and 40,000 solar panels. The facility will be a public-private partnership, and the Meru County government will own part of the project once it is operational. Construction is due to start in 2021.A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Windlab East Africa, Eurus Energy, the Kenya Investment Authority and Meru County government on Thursday 29 August at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development.In June, a consortium of government and development financiers, including the World Bank and Dutch development institution SNV, unveiled a US$47 million pot for providers of off-grid domestic solar in rural Kenya.More: Africa’s ‘largest’ solar-plus-wind-plus-storage project unveiledlast_img read more

The World Championship FIFA Trophy Arrived in Bosnia Herzegovina

first_imgYesterday in the afternoon the FIFA Trophy arrived at the Sarajevo airport with a special plane. In the framework of the tour which is organized by Coca Cola and which includes 90 countries, the three day visit to Bosnia Herzegovina started. On the airport, in the presence of the media and guests from the sport, public and cultural segments, the official reception and revelation was done. The special honor of the Trophy revelation was given to Zeljko Komsic, the Chairman of the Presidency and to the representative of FIFA, Mr. Pekki Odriozoli.“I am glad that I can be a part of the event which brings a good atmosphere and positive energy from the World Championship, and special thanks I would like to give to our Dragons (Zmajevi), who presented us to the world in the best possible way. Moreover, our Dragons made us proud to be the part of the tournament which will unite the world in the love and passion for football,” said Komsic, who is, under the rules of FIFA, the only person in Bosnia Herzegovina who can touch the Trophy.Director of the business sector of the Coca Cola Company for Southeast Europe Lana Popovic, said that Coca Cola is a part of the Bosnian Herzegovina’s economy for 39 years. This event is our present to all Bosnians, especially to those who will not go to Brazil this year, and who want to experience the unforgettable moment and to see the most wanted item of the millions of players and fans all over the world. It would be really fantastic if B&H passes the group stage and entangle the views of the world superpowers. I am positive that all who see this trophy will support the BH players even louder”, said Popovic.In the next two days, in the Mirza Delibašić  hall in Sarajevo, citizens of B&H will have a chance to see the FIFA Trophy. The exhibition for visitors will be opened on Friday, 07th of March at 13:00 and will last till Saturday, 8th of March till 21:00. All interested visitors, both children and elderly, will not be left indifferent due to a variety of contents. Moreover, the unique hologram animations will be seen for the first time in Sarajevo.
